The children’s programming
theme for 2013 is “A Trip Around the World.” A different country is assigned to
each month. In order, they are: Russia, China, France, Australia, Greece,
Japan, Brazil, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, India, and Kenya. I have chosen these countries
both because they represent diverse peoples and cultures and because sufficient
numbers of children’s books about them exist. Most programs included in this
plan reflect these monthly country themes. Lapsit themes are derived from the
monthly themes and the science and early literacy programs are not coordinated
to the country themes.
